The Doctors premiered on September 8, 2008, introducing an entirely new concept to the TV landscape -- real doctors discussing medicine and health in a relatable fashion five days a week.

The Doctors is hosted by ER physician Dr. Travis Stork; obstetrician and gynecologist Dr. Lisa Masterson; plastic surgeon and reconstructive surgery expert Dr. Andrew Ordon; and pediatrician Dr. James Sears.  The show returns for a fifth season on September 10, 2012.

In June 2010, The Doctors won the Emmy® Award for Outstanding Talk Show/Informative, the same category in which the series has been nominated every year since the show’s inception in 2008. The co-hosts were also recognized by the Television Academy with consecutive Emmy® Award nominations in the Outstanding Talk Show Host category for 2011 and 2012.  In addition to being recognized with television’s highest honor, The Doctors, has received numerous accolades from the medical community, including the 2009 Crystal Cross Humanitarian Award from the American Red Cross, which honors an outstanding television show and the humanitarian spirit of extraordinary individuals who have shown courage, compassion and unselfish character.

The Doctors has called attention to numerous world health crises through the hosts’ volunteer efforts. In January 2010, the hosts of The Doctors traveled to Haiti to aid in medical relief efforts and deliver over 7,000 pounds of donated medical supplies following a devastating earthquake.  Recent humanitarian trips include Dr. Travis Stork’s visit to Tanzania, Africa, with BikeTown Africa to help build bikes for HIV/AIDS health care workers so they can more effectively travel to remote villages, and Dr. Andrew Ordon’s trip to Varanasi, India, on behalf of SmileTrain USA to perform cleft palate surgeries on children.  In June 2011, Dr. Lisa Masterson traveled to Malawi, Africa, as an ambassador for the United Nations Girl Up Campaign where she volunteered in medical clinics and helped empower and motivate young women to take better care of themselves.

Since the show’s premiere, The Doctors has welcomed a wide variety of celebrities to discuss what matters most about their health.  Notable guests include Harrison Ford, Sally Field, Barbra Streisand, Chevy Chase, Valerie Bertinelli, Dick Van Dyke, Fran Drescher, Melissa Etheridge, Brendan Fraser, LL Cool J, Jenny McCarthy, Eva LaRue, Shemar Moore, Ryan O’Neal, Lisa Rinna, Joan Rivers, Gene Simmons, Marissa Tomei and Sesame Street’s Oscar the Grouch.

The Doctors tapes in front of an audience in Hollywood and is produced by Stage 29 Productions and distributed by CBS Television Distribution.  Jay McGraw, Carla Pennington, Dr. Phil McGraw, and Andrew Scher are executive producers.
